Every day is donuts day! If you go for a walk or to work: bring a treat.
One of the best bakeries in the city, 350 Bakehouse and Café, makes lots of donuts every day, fresh and handmade!!
But what are donuts? A doughnut or donut is a deep fried dough confection, with a hole in it. It is a sweet snack, with most of the time a filling and/or a sweet topping.
In 1847 Hanson Gregory, an American, claimed to have invented the ring shaped donut. He was not satisfied with the raw center of the donut. By making a hole in the middle the dough will cook evenly through and it will taste much better. ‘A legend’ was born. Ever since the little snack has been popular.
And of course they are popular in our bakery too. Our baker starts every morning at 5 a.m. (or earlier) to make lots of delicious donuts. Every day again. When the doors opens in the morning, the donuts will be ready and waiting for you. Of course there is much more to choose from, like apple pie, pumpkin pies (during the season), cookies, sandwiches and lots more.

Canada has a national donut day. Every year the first Friday of June.
The next donut day will be Friday, June 4th 2021.
